University Place Announces Summer Events Schedule with Several New Activities

OREM, Utah (May 11, 2022) – University Place, a 120-acre mixed-use development, today announced its calendar of family-centered, summer activities, which will be held at The Orchard, University Place’s outdoor gathering space. The Orchard is scheduled to host over 20 free events for the public from June through August.

All events are free, and at many you are encouraged to bring your own seating – whether a blanket or chairs. This summer’s events and activities include:

  • Orem Chorale Spring Concert – New
    June 3
    7:00 p.m.
    This is the first concert The Orem Choral has performed at University Place. Sure to please audiences young and old, grab dinner at the food court for a picnic and bring chairs and blankets to enjoy an evening of patriotic and playful show tunes.
  • Summer Kick-Off Luau
    June 4
    7:00-9:00 p.m.
    Our official kick-off of summer! Take a tour of the Pacific with us and enjoy food, games and enjoy performances from professional performers including fire dancers. This is fun for the entire family!
  • Orem Summerfest Kick-Off Party
    June 6
    7:00 p.m.
    For the 5th year in a row, Orem Summerfest begins at University Place! Bring a blanket and chairs and play games in The Orchard and listen to stories told by Bill Lepp.
    New to the event this year is “The Taste of University Place”. Several restaurants will be set up outside offering their most popular food and treats during the event – all free (while supplies last).
  • Guys Night Out
    June 17
    6:00-8:00 p.m.
    Try your hand at axe-throwing, rock climbing, or take a turn on a mechanical bull. This event is for guys to come and have a free, fun night out with friends or family- everyone is welcome! There will even be a free snack bar open (while supplies last).
  • Family Movie Nights – Revamped
    June 20, July 18, August 15
    7:00 p.m.
    We’ve updated one of our most popular summer series to include themed entertainment and activities leading up to the movie start! The games and fun will start at 7:00 p.m. with the movies starting at dusk, at about 9 p.m. This year’s movie lineup includes Hook, Zootopia, Spiderman: No Way Home. Free popcorn at every show while supplies last!
  • Clog America: American Folk Dance Show
    June 23
    7:00-9:00 p.m.
    As part of the annual Freedom Festival line-up, Clog America is returning to University Place to perform for it’s fourth year. Come and see the exciting show that tells the story of America’s Folk Dance history with live music and traditional dance.
  • Outdoor Concerts – New
    July 1, August 12
    6:00-8:00 pm
    University Place is proud to offer two outside concerts featuring the local cover bands Moe Low & Geneva Road on July 1, and Flashback Brothers on August 12, covering a wide range of hits from the 70’s, 80’s, and 90’s. There will be games, activities, and a raffle with prizes, be sure to bring the entire family!
  • Renaissance Day
    July 9
    6:00-9:00 p.m.
    Fighting Knights in full armor will entertain and delight spectators at the fourth annual Renaissance Day at University Place. There will be European-style entertainment and food, and at dusk settle in for a classic outdoor movie: The Princess Bride.
  • Pioneer Day Fireworks
    July 23
    5:00-9:30 p.m.
    The largest Pioneer Day celebration in Utah County, come and celebrate Utah’s heritage with live music, giveaways, a pie eating contest, vendors and much more. The evening will culminate with a spectacular firework show choreographed to music.

  • Bolivian Festival
    July 30
    4:00-9:00 p.m.
    For the second year, the Bolivian Festival will be at University Place. Beginning with a parade featuring Central & South American cultures, there will also be live performances, food, vendors and more.
  • African Heritage Festival
    August 6
    2:00-8:00 p.m.
    Enjoy African heritage and culture at the African Heritage Festival, hosted by the Ngoma Y’ Africa Cultural Center of Provo. There will be an African parade, live performances, food and more!
